Hey, let me share you something. But, honestly, my english is not good, so if you found a bad spelling or worse grammar, please let me know.. haha
So, I studied in International program UII jogja. We use english as a daily language in the learning process. The special one is I have a subject named Bridging Program (BP). Its a kind of subject that teach us how to make a good paragraph, good summary, in the beginning of the year BP taught me about university lifestyle, etc and mini research. Yeah, the main point that I want to tell you here is about my mini reserch project.
Mini research is a final project to passed BP. We are divided into groups and did the research. Its like "karya ilmiah remaja" or real research but we make it more simple. Firstly we have to make a proposal, then we do a field reasearch, then make a report, and the final is we have to present it infront of the class. There are 5 classes of BP. After we do a class presentation, our lecturer will select 2 groups each class to be a representatives in the presentation competition.
Hmmm my group is consist of 2 people, me and my friend. He's take different major with me, he's an accounting student. Our research is about nationalism of young generation. We talk about Indonesian heroes. Hmmm its not really interesting because it waste my time.
One day, when me and him discuss our field research, I have a statement that we must win the competition. To win the competition, first that we have to do is be the representatives of our class. So we do our best in the class presentation day, such as we use batik.
BP is a boring subject. All of my friends are blaming it because it gives us extra-ordinary assignments.
When I said to my bestfriend that my group have a willingness to win the competition, their reaction are the said my group is too exaggerate in this subject. This subject is only 2creditpoints but I feel excited in doing the research.
Alhamdulillah my group being a representatives of my class!!! Glad to hear the announcement from my lecturer. Then we prepare our best for the competition.
The day! Little bit nervous when I did the presentation. The judges are not my lecturer. Me and my friend did our best like in the class presentation. But... for your information, the judges are very cruel! One of their comment is they said, "Your references is very weak and you methodology is very poor!" Well, I can't do anything and I saw my friend just hear the other comments wisely. Proud to be his partner!!!
Sadly, the winner will be announced 2weeks later in the Freshmen Celebration event (I think I don't ned to explain you here what kind of event is that).
Yeaay finally today is the day for the freshmen celebration event. It means the winner of presentation competition will be announce! But, my partner is already leave Jogja for watch Liverpool match in Jakarta. Theeeeeen..... the winner of presentation competition is........ I heard my lecturer didn't call my name or my friend's name. She call other group's members name. Hmmm let me realize something. I am not the winner?! My group is fail?! Iam lose?! WTH!!!!!! My group, who have a high confidence to win, is not a winner.
My preception is, the group who win the competition don't have to win. Their preparation is... uhmmm.. okay i'm not going to write here. But that is my preception and I don't know the reality.
When I text my friend about our lose, He just... yea... I don't know what's his feeling, yea its up to him. I don't have any idea at that time. It feels like I want to scream loudly said "THAT SHOULD BE ME WHO WIN THE COMPETITION!!!" Haha but thats impossible.
Its like Indonesian proverb "diatas langit masih ada langit" there's a sky avove the sky. You will not be perfect, because there's someone who more perfect that you.
